Since 1989, we’ve been at the forefront, specialising in high voltage, electronics, communications and CCTV services tailored for the mining industry.
Our journey began with a vision to address the niche market of cable fault location, servicing and repair. Over the years, we’ve evolved to meet the dynamic needs of our clients, expanding our offerings while maintaining our commitment to quality and safety, certified under ISO 9001:2015.
REES boasts a team of highly skilled and certified professionals, dedicated to continuous learning and up-to-date with WHS and industry standards. Our mobile fleet of “workshops” ensures we’re always ready to respond to emergency call-outs, periodic maintenance, and major electrical projects, equipped with the latest high voltage testing gear.
We take pride in our impeccable safety record, having completed numerous high voltage borehole installations and cable retrievals without incidents or injuries. Our accreditation with the Chief Inspector of Coal Mines and certification under AS/NZS 3800:2020 underscore our commitment to excellence.

1989
From 1989 to Today
Since its founding in 1989, REES has grown and adapted to the ever-changing market. We have achieved numerous certifications and accreditations, and expanded our services to meet diverse client needs.
April 1989: REES founded.
January 1996: Obtained AS/NZS 9001:2000 certification.
October 2000: Accredited as a ‘Class B’ Workshop.
May 2001: Installed first High Voltage Borehole Cable.
July 2002: Established Electronics Division.
December 2003: Moved to larger complex at 31 Kyle Street.
July 2004: Established Communications Division; Electronics Division moved.
April 2005: Established CCTV Division.
May 2007: Improved Borehole Equipment.
June 2008: Launched REES Sniper 11KV Coupler Voltage Detector.
August 2009: Designed and built specialised testing van.
November 2010: Workshop upgraded to AS/NZS3800:2005.
May 2011: Manufactured specialised container for borehole projects.
June 2012: Merged Communications and CCTV Divisions.
December 2019: Moved to new facilities at 15 Paddock Place.
August 2021: Flameproof workshop upgraded to AS/NZS3800:2020.
July 2023: Introduced oil filtration services.

Continuous professional development is a cornerstone of our team’s growth, with extensive training in cable jointing, fault location, high voltage testing and maintenance, WHS construction induction, protection testing, and confined space training.
Our team holds numerous industry-accredited licences, including High Voltage Access Permit Issuer/Receiver, Telstra Accredited Plant Locator, NULCA Accredited Plant Locator, Optical Fibre Cabling, and ACA Open Registration. These qualifications ensure we deliver top-tier services with the highest standards of safety and reliability.
Roger Devery
General Manager
Since 1997, Roger brings extensive technical knowledge from his years managing the High Voltage division. He sets policies and processes to help the management team meet business goals. Roger is particularly proud of his involvement in key projects that established REES as a leader in borehole cable installations. What he enjoys most about REES is the variety of interactions with employees, customers, and suppliers, combined with the technical nature of the work that makes every day interesting.
Michael Falkiner
Business Development Manager
Michael has 17 years of experience in maintaining client relationships and managing large-scale projects. His background in Electronics and Electrical Engineering, combined with strong interpersonal skills, has been key to leading the growth of REES’s communications division, now the largest in the company.
Andrew Ryan
Division Manger of High Voltage
With 10 years of experience Andrew began as a technician after a career in underground mining and now leads the High Voltage and Transformer Division. Andrew is proud of developing a solution for relay injection testing in remote environments without power. He values REES’s positive culture and the variety of work locations.
Julian Gilliard
Division Manager of Communications
With 7 years of experience, Julian leads the communications division, overseeing day-to-day operations and managing teams of technicians. His background includes electrical communications, audio visual and CCTV across the mining, industrial and commercial sectors. Julian is proud of leading larger teams and combining internal and external resources to meet the challenging goals for mining customers. He enjoys the camaraderie and strong team dynamic at REES.

Adam brings over 30 years of experience in the mining industry. His role involves managing Back to Back overhauls, from receiving goods to dispatching completed units. Adam focuses on improving workflow and inventory management to reduce equipment downtime for customers. He enjoys REES’s strong team culture and peer support, which fosters success in every role.

Administration Office Manager
Lisa brings 10 years of experience in the mining industry. In her time with REES, she has led the office team, ensuring high-quality documentation and implementing new accounting software to streamline operations. Lisa enjoys the team’s focused culture and her role in enhancing business efficiency.
Joshua Maitland
Division Supervisor of Communications
Joshua Maitland, Communications Division Supervisor at REES, oversees daily operations, client interactions, and project scheduling. With seven years of experience in fibre, data, and HFC networks, he excels in cable jointing and complex fault finding. Joshua values working alongside a diverse, skilled team and enjoys the variety and culture at REES.
